Are You Psychic?

* First of all, what does it mean to be psychic?

While it is widely believe that everyone has psychic abilities of one form or another as children, it´s a common contention that those psychic abilities are suppressed as we grow into responsible and practical adults.

As a child, do you remember having any "imaginary" friends, or dark visitors? Did you ever get feelings about people that were later validated? If you answered yes to either of these questions, it could mean that, as a child, you did, indeed, have psychic abilities. And, if you had those abilities then, it´s my belief that (although repressed) you still do.

Is it important for you to know if you are psychic?

I believe there are good reasons for knowing whether or not you are psychic. You may be seeing things, hearing things, and/or knowing things that, defying explanation, make you (and those around you) uncomfortable. Understanding these types of experiences could be due to psychic gifts, and modifying your reaction to them, can help you avoid awkward situations with friends and family, giving you much needed peace of mind.

Additionally, identifying a psychic gift will give you opportunities to practice and improve it so you can use it to help others. Everyone can swing a bat, right? Yet not even professional Baseball players would ever improve their batting averages if they had to swing at the ball with their eyes closed, would they? In the same respect, we all might have psychic abilities, but if we can´t see (or acknowledge them) we can´t practice and learn to improve them.

How can you tell if you are psychic?

There are sites on the internet such as . http://www.psychics.co.uk/psychictests/, http://www.bellaonline.com/code/psychic/, which will allow you to "test" your self to find out if you have psychic abilities. If you take these types of tests and perform poorly, you may still have psychic abilities despite the results.

In most cases, the reason for this is the majority of psychic abilities can´t be forced. By that I mean, most people with psychic abilities can´t sit here and correctly predict what card will be drawn from a deck next, or psychically reach into the cosmos and purposely predict the date and time of the next great disaster. Using baseball for another analogy, most batters won´t announce to the world, "I´m going to hit a homerun right now!" This puts a lot of pressure on the batter, pressure which impedes his concentration altering his timing, and his bat swing, and in most instances, would result in a strike out due to trying too hard.

Forcing psychic readings from images, feelings or sounds would most likely result in misinterpretations and errors. Therefore, proof of your own psychic abilities must be in the form of internal knowledge.

Taking all this into account, if you´re not sure how to tell you are psychic, consider all the times in your life you experienced "How did I know that?" moments. Doing so is the first step in answering the "Are you Psychic?" question. Once you become aware of your possible psychic abilities, you can more readily identify strange sights, sounds and thoughts as such and work on interpreting them to help yourself and others.
