All weight loss plans should focus on maintaining muscle and burning fat. There are two important aspects to burning fat: exercise and proper nutrition. Of the two, nutrition is the most important factor in a weight loss plan. With the right nutrition, you can burn fat without losing lean muscle. To help you get started, here's my secret list of fat burning foods. These awesome fat burning foods not only ensure that you will burn fat like never before, but also help your body to stay healthy by providing it with all the nutrients that it needs in the correct ratio. Let's consider each of the foods on my list. 1) Lean Proteins: These are high on my list of fat burning foods. Lean proteins can be found in lean cuts of red meat, skinless chicken and turkey breasts, and fish (particularly, salmon and tuna). The omega-3 oils that are found in fish are actually healthy for you, so you need not worry about the oil content in fish. 2) Egg Whites: Egg white is a healthy source of protein, and it's virtually fat free.Egg whites can be eaten either as white omelets or fried, baked, or poached. You can manually separate the egg white from the yolk or you can buy egg whites at the store. 3) Green fibrous vegetables: Vegetables such as broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, green beans, and celery are some of the best green fibrous vegetables. All these vegetables contain a lot of vegetable fiber, essential vitamins, and other nutrients. For this reason, these also rank high on my list of fat burning foods. Casein allows sugar and proteins to be gradually absorbed into the blood stream, avoiding a surge of insulin. Casein is important because it ensures that the sugar and proteins are gradually absorbed into the blood stream, thus reducing the chances of an insulin spike. This is why low fat cottage cheese is high on my list of fat burning foods. 5) Other vegetables: Peppers, tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, and peas, some of the other vegetables, are high in fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. These should definitely be a part of any fat loss program and are certainly on the list of fat burning foods.Other vegetables also find a place on the list of fat burning foods and should be included in any fat loss program. 6) Whey Protein: Whey protein is available as a powder and is high on my list of fat burning foods. It provides protein of the highest biological value. This implies that the body is able to use almost all of the protein obtained from whey. 7) Whole fruits: As long as you eat fruits that are high in fiber and low in fruit sugar, whole fruits can actually be very healthy. Some fruits are higher on the glycemic index than others and can cause insulin to rise too quickly. It's best to choose fruits that contain lots of fiber and are ranked low on the glycemic index. 8) Oatmeal: Oatmeal is a good source of fiber, and that's one of the reasons why it's on my list of fat burning foods. Since oatmeal is made of complex carbohydrates, consuming it does not cause an insulin spike. 9) Skim Milk: With practically no fat and lots of casein, which allows milk protein to be released slowly into the body, skim milk is definitely on the list of fat burning foods. Consuming skim milk is a great way of ensuring that your body receives a steady supply of protein. To find out more about my list of fat burning foods, click on the link below…
