The following quote I heard on this site about Carlos Castinada:

Of course the quote is about the dreaming state during sleep but it also applies to the dreams to which we aspire.

Old Style cults tend to squash dreams of both kinds out of habit so proposing a "cult" that does not is to wander bravely into the realm where there is no hesitation to explore possibilities... any possibility. Here fears litter the terrain like cigarette butts at a casino parking lot.

Old style cults will, most certainly, forbid one from exploring possibilities but this response is not limited to cults. A friend of my once let his dream journal open and some of his sex dreams were read by his partner. After an argument based on the content of the dreams and his partners interpretation of their meanings he eventually burnt the journal because the dreaming process was defiled by his partners actions.

Not everyone is ready to face some truths and it's just wiser sometimes to leave them comfortably in the dark.

A cult that does not limit people is one that proposes a fearless look at ALL the aspects of self, The "shadow" self in Jungian terms, is only one of them. As one goes deeper there seems to be an infinite number of "selves" that fill whatever role that is required. But beneath those infinite selves is the "enigma-self" that *is* direct experience.

Of course the secret is how to institutionalize that into the cult-in-a-box format!

Hahaha... Stay tuned, pay attention, explore what's possible.
