Do Ghosts Exist?

It seems to me this question is much more controversial than it aught to be. Since the concept of an afterlife is the main influence governing the behavior of civilized humanity, and since countless stories throughout the history of mankind tout their existence, it?s amazing to me that so many people have the audacity to claim the spiritual realm does not exist.

Have you ever been a skeptic? I used to be somewhat disbelieving until I saw something with my own eyes. This event occurred in up-state New York back in the early ?80?s when my siblings and I lived with our mom. We lived in a secluded area where the only other house for miles was located about 500 yards on the other side of a thick stand of trees.

In the 11 years I lived there, two different families moved into that house next door (the Rundburgs and the Walkers) each of whom stayed a few years, then abruptly packed up and moved away. So, during those years I occasionally spent nights at their house. I vividly remember a room on the second floor that both the Rundburgs and the Walkers told me and my siblings to stay out of. When I asked each family why, I was told, ?Because there?s a ghost in there.? And in each case, their tones were ?as-a-matter-of-fact?, like they weren?t hyping up a lie, or making a statement meant for a laugh.

Though I didn?t know if those families were just kidding me, I gave the idea the benefit of the doubt, and stayed out of that room. That being said, I did observe, from time to time, one of the neighbors quickly opening that room?s door, throwing something in there, then quickly closing it. Let me tell you, the inside of that room was a real pig-sty.

As that kid, I tried applying my 11 year old logic to this, and what I came up with was the room looked so horrible, with a mountain of clothes piled almost to the ceiling, because the room was indeed haunted, and they were afraid to go in there to clean it.

The Walkers moved out of that old house around 1980 or so, and about 5 months later, I was missing their friendship. So I decided one day to ride my bike over there and look around a little. Bear in mind here that allot of time had gone by since the idea of that place inhabiting a ghost had stirred my imagination. In fact, I hadn?t thought of ghosts or anything like that for at least six months.

So, I took the old familiar path through the woods, and soon emerged from the stand of trees in my neighbor?s old back yard. I continued on, passing between the back porch, on my left, and the old black barn, on my right. After I passed the rear of the house, I turned to the left and rode slowly down the driveway which ran along the side of the house. The first window I passed was the porch window. It was so dirty, I couldn?t see through it. The second set of windows revealed the kitchen, and someone (or something) else!

I had to do a double take because the instant I saw what I saw, I felt my heart jump so hard it felt like an earthquake shaking in my chest cavity threatening to begin shaking the world outside of me. At that exact moment, I felt all the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, as I heard a deafening note of a base drum and a simultaneous clang of a huge church bell; both of which were heard only in my head.

Through the kitchen windows, I saw what appeared to be a very old man. I know this in its self isn?t scary, but there was some very unnatural details that I picked up on, even before I knew I picked up on them. The first thing was the guy?s size. This dude was way too tall. In fact, his head was just about scraping the nine foot kitchen ceiling. Secondly, the color of his skin wasn?t right. It was an unnatural ?glowing? gray. The next two things I picked up on was that he appeared to be putting invisible dishes in the cabinet, in slow motion, and his attention was focused on the contents of the cabinet, which was completely empty!

As I propped myself steady with my right leg, I quickly looked away then back. That?s when he very slowly turned his head and looked right at me, freaking me out! I could feel something inside me wanting me to flee, but I was too shaken, and temporarily unable to remember that I was in charge of my body. So for a few moments I couldn?t move at all. Thankfully, after only about 5 seconds of this, my body suddenly obeyed my instinct, and in a state of complete panic, I rode away as fast as I could. Sadly, two years after this incident, the house caught fire, and was completely destroyed.

As you have read here, I?ve seen (first hand) that the spiritual realm does indeed exist. So, if you?re a skeptic, pay attention to your surroundings because, as sure as I?m sitting here, one day you will come face-to-face with something that opens your mind to a new reality. Until then, look around and try understanding what most of mankind already knows: The spiritual realm exists, and one day you?ll be a part of it, whether or not you believe.
