Exceptional Parenting: A Better Way? Part 2

By: Ian D Wright

There are several parenting professionals who give a helping hand and advice in order to fix some of the errors when it comes to parent and child relationships. Some of their advice is about the emotional fault and common errors when speaking to your children.

Here are a few of the good methods in dealing and learning from your mistakes. Children most often respect their parents more when they have realized that they all commit some errors.

Decrease your temper before you lose it. Many of the parents when arguing with their children usually lose their temper quickly. Keep in mind that in speaking with children and teens you want to be an open minded individual.

You could also think about the thoughts of your children. Keep in mind that you are the parent and you need to learn how to talk about the situation exceptionally. As a parent you need to look as a cool and easy to talk with individual. It is not proper for kids to see us dealing with some of their issues in a more pressured manner. Learn to deal with the issues in the most relaxed manner.

Learn to talk the situation out. As a parent it's your goal to teach your kids how to deal with the situation they encounter. There are several issues that may arise and your child can not yet understand the situation. You should have an open communication with your child in order to teach him or her how to deal with the thing at hand. According to most psychologists, a child who didn't experience speaking with their parents had more emotional issues. By talking to your child you may change their emotion into a more positive manner. As much as possible do not discuss sensitive topics if you do not have enough information about it.

Respecting your child's free will. There are times when your child wants to make a decision of their own, like what style of pants that they want to wear, which toys they want to play with and what food they would want for lunch. You want to think about your child's own thoughts and personality. Bear in mind that you have different characteristics compared to your children.

Parenting is the only profession that you can learn only from your experience and when you become exceptional at it. you need to pass along the skills you have discovered to your children when they themselves become parents.
