Explanatory vocabularies give us separate determinations to the concept «film». Most widespread determination is that a film is aggregate of photographic images joint to a single subject. However, such interpretation very dry and limited. Films are our life, traditions, history, culture, domestic mutual relations, love, separation, money. Films are a concept many-sided. They execute a number of functions. They acquaint us with history, wake up the best qualities or simply relax after hard working day. There are enormous quantity of films nowadays and all of them are distinct.

For example, documentary films. The documentary is name for a film, which is based on the surveys of persons, authentic events. A variety of the documentary movies is educational films, intended to be shown at schools and other educational establishments. Researches show that educational material, presented as a film, is mastered much better, than that material, retold a teacher.
Melodramas expose the spiritual and perceptible world of heroes in especially bright emotional circumstances on the basis of contrasts: good and evil, love and hatred etc.

In western movies an action, as a rule, takes place on Wild West of America in XIX.

Thrillers are films, aspiring to create for a spectator feeling of the tense knowledge, agitations.

In adventure films an accent is displaced from violence to the shrewdness of characters, ability to outwit, deceive villain. In adventure films heroes need to disentangle from problematical situations originally.

Comedies are video, which is can make laugh a spectator, cause a smile, raise the spirits.

Domestic films are intended for viewing all family. The films of this genre are deprived violence, have a great number of elements of melodrama, comedies with a simple humour, or voyages.

Historical films reconstruct historical episodes. As a rule, they are high-budgetary, with wonderful suits and sceneries, imposing mass meetings.
A film-catastrophe is films the heroes of which get in a catastrophe and try to pull through. It can be a natural catastrophe (tornado, earthquake, volcanic eruption) or man-caused catastrophe (shipwreck of airplane, for example).
The cartoon movies are the type of cinematographic art which are created by the survey of successive motion phases of the drawn or by volume objects. And it is yet not all movie genres.
