How can you create a happy marriage that lasts?

By: fongsuimy

Are most long married couples unhappy with their relationship? That question has been bothering me for quite some time now. In my occupation as a Feng Shui consultant, many of my clients come to me with troubled relationships. While wanting to improve their relationship with their spouse, my clients often ask if there is a secret cure or recommendation that I could give them.

So, I asked a few of my married friends for their opinion. As the group members are experienced over fifty years and was in a long marriage relation so I had to chose them. Their answer shocked me a lot. Based on their own observations and those of their friends, they are of the opinion that 90% of married people are unhappy in their marriages, for one reason or another.

It is rather sad, if it is true, that they are not able to live happily ever after, just like it happens in fairy tales.

Does a cure exist? It is possible that there is.

Horoscopes are frequently used in ancient societies, such as China, where arranged marriages still take place. The horoscope of the betrothed pair are evaluated, before they are permitted to marry.

Will this succeed every time? There are increased chances with it but it may not work every time. By observing couples, experts have determined that by including conditions you can improve your chances of a long, happy marriage.

While this wisdom is for everyone, it is even more critical for those with a history of unsuccessful marriages or relationships, to take note.

Here are some of the conditions.

In the old days, the husband must always be older than the wife. This is like a tradition. It cannot and should not be broken. However the ancients also observed that for those with unsuccessful marriages or relationships, breaking the tradition can be a solution. In ancient times the Chinese believed that a wife was older, even if she had been born only a day before her husband. However to get superior results, a bigger age difference is preferred.

The other option for a more successful relationship is for the husband to be much older than the wife. To the ancient Chinese, much older means at least 8 years apart. In practice, 10 or 15 years older is perfectly acceptable or desired.

It would also increase the chances if there is a big disparity in the social and economic standard between the husband and the wife. Just for example the husband is a CEO of a big corporation and has been highly educated, while the wife does not near as much education and comes from a family that is poor. Might it be reversed? A husband being always a breadwinner in olden days it was not possible. As women are earning more than their husbands today, why not?

The second condition applies to ladies only - especially the elderly. If she cannot be a successful first wife, it does not mean that she cannot be successful being the second or third one. So, being the other women can be an option that leads to success! I have no idea about being the alternate man, you know!

What if none of the above works?

The final option is to have a spouse that is of a different race or from a different culture. For example, an Indian and a Chinese or between two Chinese brought up in different places. Having one raised in China and one raised in the United States would be a good example.

These are wise words which our ancestors have left for us. If you are having problems forming lasting relationships, you should try it out. You have absolutely nothing to lose!
