How to Speak French Like A Native

By: Austin Kio

Your desire to speak fluent French could be due to a number of reasons. It is quite same as you able to blend with locals while planning a vacation. Your goal may be to go to one of the leading universities for advanced studies or an assignment may require you to speak French. If you're willing to make the necessary effort to learn French, you'll be able to learn it rapidly no matter what method you choose. When starting out, some aspects of studying French may seem arduous, but using a quality program will maximize learning while keeping things engaging. Complete immersion in a language is the best way to accomplish the task of learning a language quickly.

It is not any more difficult to learn how to speak French than it is to learn how to speak any other foreign language, if you plan to learn it systematically. The first thing you should do is enroll in a professional course. There are only two options. First, make sure that you find a foreign language instruction provider near you that provides beginning or advanced French lessons, whichever you should require. Another option is to look on the internet for reputable companies that can teach you French online. Convenient, affordable and effective, the online option is preferred by many. Online learning is convenient because you do not have to commute to and from any facility, as you can use your home or office computer to download the necessary materials to complete the interactive lessons. Internet education is generally more cost effective because it is cheaper than employing an individual personal educator, or attending a traditional in-person French class, because the internet classes are created to be accessible to a greater percentage of people throughout the world. As well, online learning is effective because it provides you with everything a regular course would have offered, yet you can access it anytime you want and work at your own pace.

An alternative way to learn how to speak French is by listening to it when it's being spoken. If you and a friend speak in French often enough, you will greatly increase your French vocabulary, and you will easily figure out when to use which word. The French you are listening to must be erudite French and not an idiom or vernacular, which is vital to make sure. To hear a constant stream of French, watch French news channels, movies in French, soap operas, etc. You need to make it a point to hear French for at least eight hours or more per day. As the words are spoken, in your head say them with the same inflection and use the new vocabulary often.

In order to speak fluent French, you must have a general knowledge of the vocabulary, understand the grammar, and be able to do verb conjugation. This can be achieved by studding and reading. Voraciously read leading French magazines, newspapers and books will help and do not become disheartened with your progress initially, even if it takes you the whole morning to read and comprehend one paragraph. Over time, your facility with written French will get better, and this will enable you to read an increasing number of French books, which in turn will further strengthen your ability to understand the language.
