Is It Possible To Have Everything You Want?

By: Hani Al-Qasem

Would you love to be more productive, have greater fulfilment and have everything you want in life?

Do you wake up every morning and say, “Ah, today’s going to be a great day.” Or do you wake up feeling grouchy?

Which ever way you awaken, that feeling will more than likely set the tone for the rest of the day. You will either have a terrific day no matter what, or you will have a terrible day and, what’s worse, you might even neglect any good that may come your way.

You see, all things in life start off as a thought. Every minute of every day you are thinking about something or other. You simply can’t stop it. Whether you are aware of it or not, there is a voice inside of you that is continuously talking to you. Every moment of every single day you are chit-chatting with yourself, thinking, and every minute of every day, you are affirming what you believe in that moment.

In a typical day you have approximately 60,000 thoughts. These thoughts, chit-chats, self-talk or inner dialogues, that you continually affirm or say to yourself, have created your existing beliefs, attitudes and habits.

And it is these beliefs, attitudes and habits that determine all the actions that you take, and they have directed you to where you are now. The level of fulfilment in any area of your life is directly related to the quality of your thoughts or inner dialogue.

All meaningful change in life begins from within. For you to turn your life around, your primary step is to recondition your present thoughts; those thoughts that you think every waking moment.

You have to accept that thoughts create beliefs and feelings, and those beliefs and feelings drive everything that takes place in your life. For you to change and improve on your life, you will have to change your thoughts; those affirmations that you keep repeating in your head.

You will have to be aware of the disempowering thoughts, and then work on changing those thoughts that have kept you where you are. And the amazing news is that it doesn’t matter how negative those thoughts are, or even how long you have had them, they can, in time, be changed.

Unless you adjust your thoughts, which in turn change your core beliefs and attitudes, your chances of being able to change your actions and achieve greater things in your life is very doubtful.

I once had a friend who never seemed to have any money. He would repeatedly say to me, “I can’t change. That’s the way I am. I’m just not meant to have any money.” How damaging do you think that thought is? I’ll tell you, unless he changes that line of thinking, he will remain as someone who will never have any money for the rest of his life.

It is that sort of thinking that will control his every action. He will always walk around with the belief that he is not destined to have any money. The thoughts you think, become the things in your life. This is why if you want to get ahead in life and achieve all that you desire, you will have to manage your thoughts.

Successful people think about their lives differently than most people. They understand that success requires focused thinking. They recognise that thoughts lead to beliefs which lead to results. So what do they do? They manage their thoughts. They understand that language is their most powerful tool for change.

By making little changes in the way you communicate with yourself, you will create a profound impact on the results you see in your life. By instilling new positive thoughts you will instruct your unconscious mind to create the new outcomes that you want in your life.

And when you change your thoughts you will by default change your beliefs, your attitudes, your feelings, and ultimately, your behaviour and action. “So let me get this right,” said a boy to his wise father. “So what you’re saying is whatever I think about will happen?”

The father was a bit cautious wondering what his son wanted – a bicycle or an LCD TV. Yet, after much consideration, he was brave enough to say, “Yes.”

“Okay, dad. I want to be happy and rich just like ….”

“Sure you can and more,” the father interrupted. “Have the right thoughts of happiness, success and wealth and you can be happy, successful and rich.”
