Power of The Subconscious -by Dale Odeyemi

By: Assistant Editor

Think of your larger self, the immense subconscious self that is limitless in both power and possibility. Believe in yourself not just in a part of yourself.

Give constant recognition to all that is in you, and in that all have full belief and confidence – why do you need to do this? In using the power of the mind, the deeper the action of thought, will and desire the greater the result!

In defining the subconscious mind, it is first necessary to state that it is not a separate mind. There are not two minds. There is only one mind, but it has two phases the conscious and the subconscious.

We should think of the subconscious as a finer mental force, having distinct powers, functions and possibilities, or as a great mental sea of life, energy and power, the force and capacity of which has never been measured.

The conscious mind is on the surface, and therefore we act through the conscious mind whenever mental action moves through the surface of thought, will or desire.

But whenever we enter deeper mental action, we touch the subconscious, though we must remember that it does not become obvious to the conscious every time we touch the subconscious, as the two are inseparable and united as one.

We call into action the subconscious mind everyday in countless different ways, but perhaps most frequently for the purpose of remembering. Everyone has had the experience of trying to recall a name that used to be familiar but has now slipped from consciousness.

Sometimes it seems to be almost on the tip of your tongue – yet when you say it, it does not sound quite right. So you give up. Then, a few hours later, almost miraculously, the name comes back to you clear and exact, together with many facts associated with it.

The subconscious mind, you see, is not only a thinking machine; it is also the storehouse of memory. It has filed away in it, in order everything you have ever known.

You could say it contains hundreds of rooms with filing cabinets, packed with millions of details that have been a part of your experience. Even when you have consciously given up the search for the detail you wanted to remember, the subconscious goes on seeking, trying one filing cabinet after the other until it has at last found the answer for you.

You can use your subconscious mind to develop a wonderfully efficient memory! Your memory never really loses or forgets anything, once something is placed in it properly.

Remembrance and recollection depends mostly upon simple methods of indexing and cross-indexing subjects in your mind.
