Vegetable Oil as Fuel?

By: Joseph Then

Before diesel became modern slang for somebody big and tough, it mostly applied to vehicles that were big and tough. Among these vehicles include mack trucks, tractor-trailers, bulldozers, some German cars. For conventional cars, non diesel has been the common fuel type forcing conventional car owners like you to spend more money in running your car.
Diesel is basically a lesser refined gasoline type whose processing cost is around twenty five percent less per galloon although gasoline's end product costs a bit less than diesel.
But the advantage of diesel is that it gets both better fuel economy and produces less pollution than regular gasoline, which is why it's so popular in the industrial fields. There's no particular reason that diesel was never preferred for regular vehicles, aside from thefact that diesel engines were initially designed for industrial vehicles, and have always had that association.
Like gas, diesel prices have significantly increased thus the shift to diesel hardly makes it a popular option to save on gas consumption. Moreover, the trend shows that diesel based vehicles fall under the category of pick up trucks and foreign cars which are not for city driving.
Where diesel vehicles have an advantage is that, unlike your typical automobile, they can burn a variety of fuels, all of which fall under the general definition of diesel.. The one you hear about the most, and the one that's become most common, is biodiesel.
As the name might have you thinking, biodiesel is made from organic sources. Biodiesel has become a big hit commercially to the extent that a distinction has to be made on what particular diesel you are dealing with.
However despite its sustainable sources of inputs, biodiesel is not the answer to your piling gas bill since the rate tends to be more costly than the regular gas
What you might not know is that there's another type of biodiesel out there. You can actually put used cooking oil in your diesel carand it will run without any kind of modification to the engine. This appears to be strange but diesel engines were actually designed for such purpose.
The idea behind the diesel engine invention by Rudolf Diesel was to develop an engine for farmers, capable of running on vegetable oil which allow them to compete with those consumers of the more expensive gasoline.
The opportunity to save cash is knocking on your door. If you can pick up an old diesel vehicle or have a diesel vehicle, you can run it entirely on oils that your average restaurant is trying to dispose. Most of the time, they'll be happy to see you take it.
If you're willing to put in the work and learn more about using vegetable oil to run your car, it's entirely possible to run your car for free. In a sense, you can claim that it is a significant improvement over four dollars a gallon.

Biodiesel seems to be a likely solution for the problem of rising fuel prices. Now you can learn how to make your own biodiesel at home. Find out more about how you can make biodiesel at home by visiting this website ==> www.biodieselathome.net/sales.html
